Mood food? This is no longer a dream, but a reality. Recently, researchers from the TNO Nutrition and Food Research Institute (Netherlands) conducted an experiment on a group of 29 people selected from among people who are easily stressed and suffering from depression.
The essence of the experiment was as follows: for two days, all subjects were regularly “exposed” to mild stress (solving a complex mathematical problem), and then offered to drink a cocktail: one group – with a high content of alpha-lactalbumin ( whey protein rich in tryptophan), and the other – placebo.
Compared to the control group (placebo), all patients in the “serum” group noted a significant decrease in the level of cartisol (stress hormone) and, most importantly, an improvement in mood. These factors clearly indicate that the body has overcome a stressful situation.
What is the conclusion? If your diet includes whey protein enriched with alpha-lactalbumin, you will forget about stress forever. This is especially important when working out regularly in the gym.
