“Rope” exercises in bodybuilding

A pair of thick (or even intentionally weighted!) marine ropes are an excellent tool for developing true athletic muscle status. With these ropes you are supposed to “drive the wave.” However, if you are strong enough, try supplementing the “classics” with more difficult exercises.

DOUBLE WAVE
This classic movement is performed with both hands. With a whipping explosive movement, send two high humpbacked “waves” away from you along the ropes.

SITTING TURNS
Sit on the floor. Grip the ends of the ropes tightly with both hands and quickly move them from one side to the other.

SIDE “WAVES”
With a quick explosive movement in the horizontal plane, send a side “wave” along the ropes. Repeat on both sides.
